Every day I have to fight the desire to read and lean everything. “Knowledgeable” is how I would want others to describe me, but as I get older and my responsibilities become more concrete, I need to manage my time in a more detailed fashion. I must accept that there will be things I will never learn or become good at, because investing time in those things takes time away from those who need me most. I am starting to understand that knowledge without action becomes stagnant, and that knowledge is to be both gained AND taught. My hope is that whenever I get an inkling to spend time learning something new, I weight it against what else I could use the time for, and if I still decide to move forward, consider how to pass that knowledge along in a useful way to those in my life.
